I need help.

Please feel free to grab this and post it wherever you like.

Please feel free to grab this image and post it wherever you’d like!

You may have noticed that I haven’t been online this week–odd behavior for an author who’s about to have a book release. We’ve had a family emergency that has occupied my time and will put me on a plane the day How Beauty Loved the Beast  hits the virtual shelves. I’m going to do what I can over the next week, but I’m not sure how much time I will be able to devote (and my head’s a little spin-y anyway, so I’m not sure I’d post anything that makes sense. 🙁 ) I have a few things already in place that will happen, but for the most part, it will be a pretty quiet release if I’m leading the charge.

I’m mostly saying this so that the lack of fanfare doesn’t make anyone wonder why I’m not “excited” about the final book. This isn’t the case at all. How Beauty Loved the Beast is not only the longest of the three, it was the most challenging and rewarding to write. I’m extremely proud of the work done by myself and my team at Carina, particularly my editor Rhonda Helms.

I’m also saying this, though, because if there is anyone who wouldn’t mind helping promote the book in my absence, I would deeply appreciate it. As I mentioned, I have a few things already in place, but I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to promote them, and I feel terrible about that. I also won’t be on social media answering questions or talking things up. I have started a newsletter that I will be unable to finish. I usually come up with a few things last minute to add to the promotional cauldron, and I won’t be here to do that, either. If you are able to help me do this in my absence, you would be my fairy godmother indeed. I’m listing the things that need promoting below. If anyone has any additional ideas they’d like to swing by me, I’d love to hear them (although forgive me if my response time is ridiculously slow). But mostly if anyone would simply be willing to Tweet or FB about the book, tell a friend, show them the cover…something to get the word out, I will appreciate it so much.* And I will declare you officially Hauk’s REAL girlfriend. (Or boyfriend. You can do that in the military now.)

Regardless of your ability to help, I do want to give an enormous thanks to all my darling readers. Y’all have made this past year so much fun and so rewarding. I hope you enjoy the final installment of Hauk and Jolie’s story.

Sincerely,
Jax

* If anyone has experience doing newsletters and has the time to put a good one together, email me (jennifercgarren at gmail) and I’d love to talk to you. I’m not expecting this to happen on such short notice, however.

Plans already in place

The direct links to all but the first aren’t available yet, but I have provided a link to the main page of the site.

Current: Christy’s Love of Books character interview with Hauk and Jolie. Giveaway ends Sunday!

Friday May 10: Heroes and Heartbreakers exclusive excerpt (I picked this one for all the Hauk fans out there; hope you enjoy it!)

Monday May 13: RELEASE DAY (holy cow)
* Also, How Beauty Met the Beast will be the Book-a-Day on AllRomance (I’m unclear as to how this works and will try to send additional info as I know it. I know that they’re giving Met away for free.)

Tuesday May 14: Book Monsters guest blog, “Top Ten Things Readers Should Know About Hauk” (I’m in the process of trying to write this now. If there’s anything YOU would like to know about Hauk, please send it and I’ll include it!)
* Tuesday is also D-Day for my family. If anyone has a moment to light a candle, say a prayer, send a chant…anything that you do for my daughters, I would appreciate that more than you can know.

Thank you Terri! I really appreciate that. 🙂 I need some smiles this week, and that brought a bright one to my face.
